At Mountain Bear Wood Products, every piece of timber tells a story of heritage, hard work, and the rich landscapes of West Virginia.

Our journey began in 2024, when we acquired our piece of land in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. Surrounded by some of the finest hardwoods in the world, we set out with a vision to honor these natural resources. By mid-2025, our sawmill was up and running, turning that vision into a reality. Since that day, the smell of fresh-cut sawdust and the hum of the blade have been the heartbeat of our operation.

We do things differently here. There are no mass-production lines or faceless processes. Every single product that leaves our land starts with David, who personally selects and harvests each tree, respecting the forest and the wood's raw potential. From there, he brings the logs to our sawmill, where they are milled with precision.

But the mill is just the beginning. David masterfully drafts, shapes, and crafts the final products. Whether it is rugged timber for construction, precise stakes for local industries, heavy-duty wrecker blocks, or heirloom-quality custom furniture, every item carries a stamp of authentic craftsmanship.

• Appalachian Poplar: Unlike true poplars, Appalachian Poplar actually belongs to the Magnolia Family. It is famous for its smooth finish and steady stability. It is light, easy to shape, and ready for a bright splash of paint.
